I do not bill insurance directly, but I use Jane to make the process smoother on your end. Many extended health plans in BC cover counselling with a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), and I provide detailed receipts that you can submit for reimbursement. If you are unsure, I recommend checking with your provider to confirm what is covered.
Yes, I offer a free 15 minute phone or video consult. It is a chance to ask questions, see if we are a good fit, and get a sense of what working together might feel like. There is no pressure to commit.
The first session is about getting to know each other and helping you feel at ease. We will talk about what brings you in, what you are hoping for, and what support might look like moving forward. You are welcome to ask questions or take your time. There is no pressure to have it all figured out.
Most clients meet with me weekly or biweekly, depending on what feels right for them. We can adjust the pace as we go to match your needs and goals.
Standard sessions are 50 minutes in length. Longer sessions can be arranged if needed.
Yes, I offer counselling to youth ages 14 and up. I aim to create a space where younger clients feel safe, supported, and respected as they explore what they are going through.
Yes, my practice is fully virtual, offered through secure phone or video sessions. You can access support from the comfort and privacy of your own space anywhere in British Columbia.
Payment is processed securely through Jane using credit card or e transfer. You will receive a receipt after each session, which can be used for reimbursement if your plan covers counselling with a CCC.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, I ask for at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to the full session fee. I understand that life happens, so I do my best to be flexible when I can.
Your privacy is important. I follow all legal and ethical guidelines set out by the CCPA and BC privacy regulations. Your personal information and session notes are securely stored, and everything we talk about stays confidential unless there is a legal or safety reason to share. I will always explain those exceptions clearly if they ever apply.
That is completely okay. You do not need to have everything figured out before beginning counselling. We will work together to explore what is showing up for you, one step at a time.
